Since 2006, Max von Bismarck has been Director & Head of Investors (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Hedge Funds, Institutional Investors and Sovereign Wealth Funds) at the World Economic Forum. From 2005-2006 he served as Deputy Head Strategy.
Max has initiated and currently champions World Economic Forum projects focusing on the "Globalization of Alternative Investments", "Entrepreneurship and Successful Growth Strategies", the impact of the financial and economic crisis on a "New Financial Architecture" and projects investigating the opportunities in "Green Investing" and "Investing in Infrastructure". Jointly with professor Josh Lerner (Harvard Business School) his team published "The Global Economic Impact of Private Equity Report" in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Max also co-authored "The Future of the Global Financial System" and "Green Investing - Towards a Clean Energy Infrastructure" published in Davos in January 2009 and January 2010. Furthermore Max leads the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on "The Future of Long Term Investing" and is a trustee of the World Economic Forum USA Retirement Plan.
Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, Max was a Co-Founder & Managing Director at Public One Strategy Consulting. For his achievements he was presented the McKinsey's Founders Prize for the state of Berlin.
Previously he was a founding team member of the Oxford based technology company Mondus Limited. As the Director Legal he helped to build international operations and was involved in the successful trade sale to SEAT Pagine Gialle. Max also co-founded BerlinPolis, "one of Germany's most successful pro-reform think tanks" according to the Lisbon Council. He studied Law and Modern History at St. John's College, Oxford University, and Humboldt Universitaet zu Berlin and holds a Masters in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum (Program in collaboration with Wharton School of Business, Columbia University, INSEAD and London Business School).
Max was named a German-American Young Leader of the Atlantik Bruecke in 2004, a Global Leadership Fellow by the World Economic Forum in 2005 and a Bucerius Young Leader by the ZEIT-Foundation in 2007.
